Direct and group chats
Conversations, groups and channels with message history, reactions, replies, editing and deletion.
Open beta
Green Chat is a fast messenger with @username accounts, resilient operation on unstable networks, and privacy settings controlled by you.
Runs directly in your browser. Installation is optional.
Features
Core actions stay where people expect them instead of being buried in overloaded menus.
Conversations, groups and channels with message history, reactions, replies, editing and deletion.
Outgoing actions wait for connectivity and missed events are restored when the network returns.
While an operation is still in the local queue, a send or deletion can be cancelled.
Show message text, only the sender name, or a neutral notification with no preview.
Export your data and remove the account through a clear, controlled process.
The node address is selected before authentication. Changing it remains an explicit user action.
Privacy and device security
Green Chat does not require a phone number and provides explicit tools to protect local data. You decide which protections to enable.
Protect access with a code or passphrase. On supported devices, biometrics can be used as a convenient unlock method.
After the lock is enabled, local message and media cache is migrated into encrypted device storage.
An optional separate code clears local data and the device session. Server-side actions are best-effort when connectivity is available.
We avoid absolute security language and state the boundaries of device protection. This page lists actual capabilities and limitations.
